After decades of decline, the number of lives lost to cardiovascular disease each year is on the rise.

As a part of our ongoing commitment to support communities affected by cardiovascular disease, our Associate Director, Communications: Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism (CRM) will be critical to generate a meaningful change by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to design and execute impactful programs reaching patients, healthcare professionals and the public.


Major Accountabilities:

• Provide strategic public relations support for the Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism franchise marketed and pipeline portfolio.

• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Novartis communications leaders, marketing and medical colleagues and PR agency partners.

• Design and execute impactful program that can maximize PR, Social Media and Patient Advocacy

• Support the development and implementation of communications, social and digital strategy to support business objectives and measurement.

• Develop and drive execution of activities and programs with an understanding of the key audiences and business needs to support pre-launch and priority brands and be responsible for measuring key outcomes and adapting work to continuously improve
.
• Work with agency partners to deliver strategic relevant and innovative programs for stakeholders.

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work related expertise. With a Concentration in communications, public relations, marketing, social/digital media or Life Science related disciplines preferred.

• 7 plus years’ experience in communications or related field with strong emphasis on external communications, digital and social media, patient advocacy. Life Sciences Communications Field preferred.
• Strong experience in developing and coordinating integrated communications/social media plans.
• Ability to manage complex, multiple issues and projects.

• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with track record of supporting senior leaders
• Business acumen – insightful understanding of the Life Sciences industry and how it is evolving
• Comfortable with ambiguity
• Outstanding written and verbal communications
• Outstanding project management and budget/resource management skills
• Ability to prioritize and maximize limited resources to achieve goals
