The Scientific Operations (SciOps) group in Cambridge, MA, has an exciting opportunity for a Lab Manager. In this role you'll be leading the Lab Operations Lab Management Service function and its supporting team. This position will collaborate with scientists and support NIBR functions- including Health, Safety & Environment, Facilities and Real Estate, IT/Nx, Procurement, and Finance. The successful candidate must be organized, proactive, and capable of handling a variety of tasks in a highly matrixed environment.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop, implement, and lead the SciOps Lab Management program, including managing (50%) and delivering (50%) of Lab Manager services to designated NIBR line functions.
• Co-leading the local NIBR Lab Manager/Coordinator meeting and activities
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with NIBR researchers as well as with the NIBR Operations community to ensure alignment and execution of departmental and Scientific Operations objectives
• Find opportunities and lead or collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiencies, logistics, and business processes
• Drive operational excellence competence and sustainability best practices for supported workstreams (consumables, reagents, chemicals, media, equipment)
• Support all compliance related tasks which impact the lab environment
• Drive lab products and equipment related digital excellence competence for supported work streams
• Interface with supporting NIBR functions- including Health, Safety & Environment, Facilities and Real Estate, IT/Nx, Procurement, and Finance.

Minimum requirements

What you will bring to the role:
• B.S. or M.S. degree in a scientific field
• 8+ years of combined research lab and lab operations management experience
• Proven track record of leading and executing in complex matrix setups
• Strong drive for operational and digital excellence
• Passion for drug discovery and dedication to working in a team environment to contribute to shared project and organizational goals
• Excellent communication skills with ability to present information to operations leadership and scientific customers
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced drug discovery environment with positivity and persistence regardless of challenges
