The Controlling and Business Planning Manager will support the Head of Finance and the Oncology Leadership Team by independently performing business planning activities for Oncology Austria including monthly closing, forecasting, ongoing performance monitoring, and decision support in order to deliver financial results in line with expectations.

Your Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Act as a strategic business partner to the Oncology unit
• Key contributor to the ongoing latest outlook for sales and expenses, monthly business reviews and budgeting/planning process
• Manage the month-end closing process including reporting and analysis of underlying business drivers
• Close collaboration with Region offices and Novartis Shared Services on monthly deliverables and resource allocation
• Provide market and financial analysis that enables the Senior Management to make sound operational and strategic decisions to meet growth targets
• Work closely with Senior Management, Field Force , Marketing and Medical departments as well as Sales Force Excellence to align on planning processes
• Produce transparent management reports and financial evaluations including variance analysis for both business partners and Region to support decision making process as well as follow-up activities
• Initiate and drive productivity through continuous improvement of operational, financial and administrative processes in the Austrian business unit
• Identify risks and opportunities and take appropriate actions to deliver against targets

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• University degree in Finance, Business Administration or other relevant field or relevant work experience from a similar role
• 2+ years of experience in financial controlling in a multinational environment (pharma, med-tech, global digital industrial company or FMCG preferred)
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Accuracy, entrepreneurial mindset, team player attitude and reliability
• Very high proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluent in English (oral and written), German is a plus

Desirable requirements:
• Financial experience in a matrix-organization, cross-functional or international company is preferred
• Previous experience in working with SAP ECC and/or SAP BPC is beneficial
