The Novartis Exploratory Immuno-Oncology department is seeking a highly motivated team player to join the efforts on identifying novel IO targets and advancing innovative IO therapeutic approaches. The successful candidate will become a key contributor in a dynamic multidisciplinary drug discovery team and have the opportunity to explore the biology of emerging targets as well as contribute to preclinical studies to advance drug candidates for evaluation in clinical trials.

Key responsibilities:
•Develop and perform various cell based in vitro assays using human and mouse immune cells
•Plan and execute in vivo studies using syngeneic tumor models
•Analyze, interpret, and present data in team meetings

Minimum requirements

Desirable Requirements:
•B.S., M.S. with 3+ years of relevant research experience
•Extensive expertise in cell culture, multicolor flow cytometry, and cytokine profiling
•Experience with cell isolation techniques and functional immune cell assays
•Hands-on experience with mice including tissue collection, prior experience with tumor cell implant is desirable but not required
•Meticulous laboratory approach, careful adherence to protocols, and excellent lab notebook documentation
•Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within small functional teams
•Good time management and strong analytical skills
•Standard molecular and cell biology techniques (RT-qPCR, western blotting, microscopy, transfection etc.) is a plus
•Strong background in immunology or cell biology is desirable
