Novartis re-imagine medicines through precision medicine diagnostics. This is your opportunity to work with highly motivated teams to truly shape Novartis Oncology’s Precision medicine strategy.

The purpose of this global role is to ensure the commercial competitiveness and leadership of our Precision Medicine portfolio, thereby enhancing the value of our Oncology pipeline, by shaping the design and implementation of precision medicine solutions including but not limited to: innovative bio-markers, diagnostic tests, diagnostic platforms, software and big data that support Novartis treatment access in the marketplace.

The Sr. Director, Precision Medicine OBU, advocates for development of strategies that ensures customer access (patients, HCP, payers, etc...) to diagnostics that are developed alongside Novartis oncology targeted medicines portfolio.

Global Precision Medicine OBU Representative on Oncology Precision Medicine GDD (OPM GDD) project teams

1. Provide deep understanding/insights to OPM on external environment, including competitive landscape, payer/reimbursement requirements, unmet medical needs, and evolving diagnostic technologies adoption patterns.
2. Understand the diagnostic development and regulatory process and maintain sufficient “R&D fluency” to identify customer access implications of early diagnostic technologies development decisions
3. Develop forecast diagnostic testing assumptions ensuring alignment from early pipeline to brand forecasts.
4. Establish key messages for Novartis position to diagnostic opportunities. Collaborate with C&I and Insights team to deliver systematic assessment of diagnostic landscape evolution

Global Precision Medicine OBU representative to Oncology Franchise & Brand Teams, and Liaison with Markets

1. Engagement with global key opinion leaders for guiding and enabling implementation, adoption and use of diagnostics. Lead Ad Boards as required
2. Engage with Global Value & Access colleague to drive timely diagnostic reimbursement across markets
3. Gather relevant medical expert insights by building a network of key opinion leaders
4. Drive the creation and implementation of diagnostic expertise and technical knowledge in preparation for launch and life cycle management of new drug indications and follow-on diagnostics
Global Precision Medicine OBU Representative for Global Business Development & Licensing

1. Identify opportunities for diagnostics development and customer access partnering
2. Advise on optimal deal structure; review collaboration contracts
3. Prepare and present Novartis Oncology’s capabilities to potential partners.
4. Identify synergies across internal diagnostic pipeline initiatives

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA or advanced degree (e.g. PhD, Pharma D, MD preferred)

Experience/ Professional Requirements:
1. Proven ability to connect, collaborate and work effectively to provide leadership in a highly matrixed environment
2. Strong communications skills, written, verbal and presentation
3. Prior pharmaceutical and diagnostic development and commercialization experience (8-10 years), Oncology preferred
5. Sense of urgency in managing complex projects & diverse project teams to achieve goals on time

Experience in more than one of the following roles in addition to diagnostics: strategic planning, business development, marketing or sales
Experience working in a global environment
Diagnostic / Drug launch experience
