At the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research (NIBR) we are reimagining medicine using science-based innovation. The ADME In-Vitro team is looking for an investigator with a mixed role of coordinating laboratory work and project representation of the discipline.

What you’ll be doing

In this role you will be developing new in-vitro assays/models with improved predictive power, adapt the assay portfolio to the evolving needs of the organization and schedule/monitor studies performed at CROs.

You will be phenotyping of enzymes and transporters involved in the disposition/clearance of drug candidates and assessment of the potential for drug-drug interactions in humans.

You will also actively participate in multi-disciplinary project teams by providing ADME expert input and guidance for DDI-related questions.

You will also develop a compilation of technical documents, study reports, and documents in support of regulatory submissions.

Minimum requirements

What you will bring to the role:

Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Bioengineering or equivalent

At least 5 years of experience in ADME, particularly in the translational aspects.

You will need an understanding of drug metabolism, drug transport, drug-drug interactions, and pharmacokinetics principles.

You will also need a working knowledge of general laboratory techniques used in the ADME In-Vitro field and scientific writing are important.

You will work independently, have a strong scientific knowledge of drug-drug interactions including drug metabolism and transport, be capable of providing expert technical/scientific assistance on projects and provide assistance with health authority interactions. Good oral and written communication skills are essential.
