This is an exciting opportunity to join the Next-Generation Therapeutics Group within Novartis Immuno-Oncology. We are dedicated to discovering innovative cancer therapeutics and therapeutic formats that transform patient’s lives. The successful candidate will become a key individual contributor in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team that is engineering a number of novel immuno-oncology technologies. The candidate will be expected to validate new immuno-oncology modalities. The high-quality data generated will directly contribute to the design of future clinical trials. This position will therefore be ideal for those candidates wishing to combine their interest in immunobiology with their strong desire to design new therapeutic approaches to treat cancer.


•Design, develop, and validate a broad range of cell-based functional and phenotypic assays to test new therapeutic modalities
•Conduct in vitro studies using primary human or mouse immune cells and cell lines, and in vivo testing to evaluate activity of candidate therapies
•Design, execute, and analyze experiments independently; meticulously document and communicate data to senior stakeholders and team members
•Present results in team meetings and deliver presentations to both small and large groups

Minimum requirements

Minimum requirements
•BS/MS in biological sciences or biomedical engineering with 5+ years of relevant research experience. Job title and grade level will be commensurate with experience and skillset.
•Broad knowledge of immunology with in-depth knowledge in T cell biology and CAR T cell technology.
•Proficient in flow cytometry panel design, execution, and analysis.
•Experience with bioconjugation chemistry, biomaterials, and drug delivery.
•Familiarity with recombinant protein engineering and expression and lentivirus production is highly desirable.
•Strong expertise in novel assay development, validation, and execution.
•A bench leader and motivated self-starter, exhibiting a track record of intellectual contribution to research projects and mentoring lab members.
•Demonstrated ability to bring in new technologies when necessary or useful to drive novel research directions.
