Job Description

1st – a 1st in this indication. Be part of an exciting new launch in the field of Multiple Sclerosis. We are looking for highly energized, passionate medical affairs professional to join the Novartis Neuroscience team to bring an innovative new medicine to patients.

Your responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provide scientific and medical knowledge, expertise and leadership
• To progress development of Novartis pipeline molecules,
• To ensure optimum delivery of UK medical / clinical programmes
• To partner with other associates to deliver activities associated with Novartis inline brands to ensure patient and HCP centric activities of value and quality.
• Stays abreast of the therapeutic area (TA) pipeline and is the medical/scientific expert for the pipeline molecules
• Provides input into the Global clinical development plan (CDP), study designs, protocols to ensure UK needs are addressed
• Supports the team with development of NVS sponsored local studies, for example: 1) With the assistance of the Clinical Project Manager, designs and writes the study protocol. 2) With the assistance of the biometrics and data management team, agrees the CRF design and statistical plan. 3) With the assistance of the project manager, conducts feasibility and site selection 4) With the multi-functional team, manages the CSR completion within 12 months of LPLV and plans and delivers the local publications
• Handles IIT requests (local/global approval, contracts with Trusts, tracking of trial milestones, ensures GCP compliance)
• Ensures proactive provision of current awareness e.g. Medical insights, competitor data and NVS clinical trial data, to field force and head office personnel as appropriate / as required.
• Provides input into the Strategic Plans (5 years) and Operational Plans (1 year)
• Partner with marketing to drive strategic positioning, differentiation and key marketing messages for Brand(s)
• Based on medical expertise and scientific evidence, identifies clinical areas of opportunity/differentiation for the brands
• Understands current and future positioning aims for the medicines and works with others to identify clinical activities that support the achievement of those aims
• Provides medical/scientific input to Health Technology Appraisals
• Works in partnership with marketing to develop high quality briefing and promotional materials and develops strategic Brand Core Claim Plan if appropriate
• Supports Medical Information enquiry handling process as required
• Provide Support to formulary submissions as appropriate.
• Reviews promotional materials and activities within required guidelines to ensure compliance with ABPI Code of Practice regulations & P3 guidelines.
• If appropriate, provide signatory leadership to ensure Code and P3 requirements are met
• Develops and maintains KOL/investigator relationships in conjunction with broader Franchise
• Delivery of customer facing medical activities e.g. supporting organisation of medical education meetings, advisory boards

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Medically qualified and GMC registered Physician or Pharmacist with UK registration.
• Medical affairs experience
• Final signatory
• Ideally relevant therapeutic area experience.
• If HCP, 2-4 years’ clinical experience, preferably within the NHS

• Leadership: amongst peer-group, across the business and with HCPs.
