Job Description

To provide strategic Global and US public relations support for the organization’s marketed and pipeline portfolio.

This includes building and maintaining collaborative relationships with Novartis communications leaders, marketing & medical colleagues, and PR agency partners.

The product focus for this role will be split between hematology and solid tumors, and may vary according to business needs.

Specifically, you will be involved with:

• Strategic communications partnering and counsel - Support the development and implementation of a communications strategy to support the company’s business and goals, major initiatives and brands, and measure effectiveness of efforts.

• Project management - Partner with business and functional colleagues to develop and drive execution of activities and programs.

• External communications for brands - Develop and implement brand public relations programs for pre-launch and in-line brands.

• Performance Management – Measure key outcomes and adapt and evolve strategy to continuously improve.

• Stakeholder Collaboration- Understand the global Novartis organization, and major competitors and stakeholders. Build strong, collaborative relationships with Novartis stakeholders and worldwide colleagues.

• Agency/Partner Management – Work with agency partners as needed to deliver strategic, relevant and innovative programs to stakeholders.

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Bachelors or equivalent 4-year university degree required.
• Concentration communications, public relations, marketing, social/digital media or a related discipline is preferred.

• 8+ years of related experience in communications or related field with strong emphasis on external communications, digital and social media, patient advocacy from a healthcare company or hospital. Pharmaceutical/biotech industry is preferred.

• Experience effectively supporting senior leaders.

• Outstanding project management and budget/resource management experience.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.

• Strong experience in developing and coordinating integrated communications/marketing plans.

• Ability to manage multiple issues and projects effectively.
