This is an exciting opportunity to join the Novartis Oncology Immune Modulation Group. We are dedicated to discovering innovative cancer therapeutics and therapeutic formats that transform patient’s lives. The successful candidate will become a key contributor in a dynamic, multidisciplinary discovery team tackling a number of novel immuno-oncology targets.

Ideal applicants will possess excellent knowledge of tumor immunology, communication and organizational skills, critical problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities Include:
•In vivo scientist that can design and execute preclinical studies using cancer and immuno-oncology models
•Experienced working with mouse tumor models, including, but not limited to, syngeneic models, humanized mouse models and the use of murine knockout/knockin models to better understand mechanisms of cancer immunotherapy pathways.
•Experience dosing modalities including intravenous, oral, intraperitoneal and sub-cutaneous dosing for pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and efficacy studies
•Collection of biological samples from mice (tumor, tissues, serum)
•Develop and conduct assays that support in vivo studies (e.g. qPCR, cytokine analysis, flow cytometry analysis of tumor immune cells), as needed
•Conduct additional in vitro molecular and cell biology experiments, as needed
•Contribute to experimental design of immunology/oncology studies; documentation, analysis and interpretation of experiments for the evaluation of pre-clinical candidates as potential therapeutic agents.
•Present research at internal and external meetings

Minimum requirements

Desirable Requirements:
•BS or MS with in biology/oncology/immunology with 2-5 years of hands-on in vivo experience
•Expertise in animal studies including pharmacokinetic and efficacy studies in syngeneic mouse models, working with both biologics and small molecules
•Skilled in dosing oral, IV and IP and tumor implantation models
•Drug discovery experience in immunology and/or oncology
•Previous experience with syngeneic tumor models, flow cytometry experience with immunology background is an advantage.
