The Market Access & External Affairs Manager is responsible for securing target reimbursement, funding, and market access of Novartis’ oncology products in Sweden. He or she demonstrates a deep understanding of the local political environment, healthcare structure and regulations to devise MAX & EA initiatives that will provide a sustainable competitive advantage in a given business environment.


Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Develop strategies and drive activities to remove regional and national market access hurdles
• Work closely with the HEOR team to drive reimbursement submissions, and collaborate with Public Affairs to develop and implement public affairs plans for Sweden
• Build and maintain relations with payers and other market access partners on both national and regional level
• Provide market access input and support to cross-functional brand strategies and activities
• Develop and drive market access projects with external partners
• Monitor pricing developments, seek pricing opportunities, and maintain prices of Novartis Oncology products in the relevant price databases. Develop business cases to support pricing strategies and pricing approvals, where necessary.

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• University degree in pharmacy, business administration, health economics or other related fields
• Proficient in Swedish and good skills in English, spoken and written
• At least 5 years of working experience in the pharma industry, and at least 2 years in market access position
• Experience from engaging with regional and national market access partners
• Deep knowledge about the Swedish healthcare system, funding and reimbursement system, and thus developing reimbursement submissions, pricing analyses and tender bids
• Good understanding of health economics and evidence generation to support market access
• Ability to collaborate and build trust and relationships, both internally and externally
