The Senior Cloud Engineer, reporting to Head of Cloud, will contribute to the development and operation of the NIBR cloud environment, which supports the diverse informatics needs of NIBR science. The ideal candidate will have real-world success in building AWS solutions, as well as demonstrable expertise in DevOps.

Responsibilities include:

• Act as part of a global, cross-functional team to ensure NIBR’s cloud platform is highly available
• Design and operate a scalable and maintainable enterprise IT service
• Assist internal teams in becoming familiar with in-house processes, paradigms and tools
• Author and contribute to systems management procedures that ensure scalable and compliant platform operations
• Additional tasks, responsibilities and duties in the fields of software engineering and IT service management

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred), or equivalent work experience
• 2 or more years of experience in AWS key services
• Experience in AWS SDK (Boto 3)
• Hands on experience working with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Chef, CloudFormation, and Terraform
• Familiarity with agile and traditional project management methods

Desirable requirements:

• 3+ years software engineering experience
• Working knowledge of Linux operating systems
