Investigator, Oncology Drug Discovery
817 million. That’s how many lives our products touched in 2018. And while we’re proud of that fact, in this world of digital and technological transformation, we must also ask ourselves this: how can we continue to improve and extend even more people’s lives?

The Oncology Department is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented scientist to lead novel targets through the drug discovery process. In the Cancer Biology and Drug Discovery group, our goal is to understand the biology of the target as well as the disease. This enables relevant biochemical and/or cellular assay development, leading to the identification of novel chemical matter.

Your Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
•Validate targets, identify the path to drug discovery and ultimately engage various functional groups across Oncology and NIBR to progress candidate molecules through hit to lead, optimization and in vitro/in vivo testing.

What you’ll bring to the role:
•This is a unique opportunity for an independent, scientifically driven candidate to join our oncology team and perform basic research with the goal of developing new drugs to help cancer patients.

Desirable Requirements:

•In-depth knowledge of oncogenic signaling networks and cancer biology, as evidenced by a strong publication record.
•Experience with molecular and cell biology techniques (e.g. CRISPR, RNAi and somatic cell engineering) and proficiency in experimental design, data analysis and interpretation is essential.

Why consider Novartis?
