Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated scientific leader to lead a group of scientists (Ph.D. and M.S. degree) to discover new targets and therapeutics for cancer, liver disease, and rare diseases. The ideal candidate should have international experience as an independent scientific leader either in academy or industry.

China Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (CNIBR), established in 2007 in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, Shanghai as the first fully integrated R&D center and the largest among MNC companies, is part of the Novartis global R&D network and the innovation hub for Novartis in Asia.

Our Research
Our scientists are dedicated to discovering innovative therapies that address unmet medical needs in China and the world. We are studying epigenetic mechanisms, oncogenic pathways and immuno-oncology to discover breakthrough medicines against Asian prevalent cancers (such as lung cancer, liver cancer, gastric cancer, and nasopharyngeal carcinoma), liver diseases (including non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and fibrosis) and novel regeneration therapies for aging related diseases.

Our Collaboration
We collaborate across scientific and organizational boundaries, with a focus on powerful new technologies that have the potential to help produce therapeutic breakthroughs for patients. Together with our global colleagues and external collaborators (academic and biotech) we are spearheading some of NIBR’s breakthrough approaches and technologies such as DNA encoded libraries, digital R&D platforms and targeted protein degradation that are transforming drug discovery. We also partner with academia, research institutes and biotech companies in China and Asia to drive innovative drug discovery.
• Education: Ph.D. in biology and biotechnology
• Languages: Business-level oral and written English
• > 10 years of research experience in genomics and AAV mediated gene delivery
• Familiar with GWAS study, single cell RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, and AAV gene delivery technology
