Job Description

We are Clinical Sciences and Innovation at Novartis. A dynamic group of Clinical Scientists who plan and execute early phase trials worldwide. From First-in-Human to Proof-of-Concept and beyond. We design and operationalize trials, ensuring they run smoothly, on time and – most importantly – with patients’ interests to the fore.

Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Lead Translational Medicine trials for Novartis. Collaborating across our global network. Partnering with world-class physicians and scientists. Championing projects. Building therapeutic area expertise. Always curious. Innovative and inspiring. You will play a pivotal role in transitioning discovery research to clinical practice.
• Drive and deliver all aspects of global clinical trial execution from study concept to final reporting across multiple therapeutic areas
• Lead and matrix-manage high performing global study teams, collaborating across the organization
• Author of the Clinical Study Protocol, amendments and other study essential documents.
• Train and support CRAs/CROs on study protocol and related questions and serve as point of contact for managing/answering questions relating to trial procedures and subjects’ eligibility.
• May support the Medical Expert on project documentation e.g. briefing books, IBs, Annual Safety Reports, responses to Health Authority questions, etc.

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• PhD level scientist with life sciences background; PharmD; BSc or MSc in life sciences.
• Business-level written and oral English
• At least 6+ years experience in clinical trials/ drug development.
• Extensive knowledge of Good Clinical Practice.
• Track record of successfully managing multiple concurrent phase I and IIa, complex clinical trials.
• Office and clinical trial software IT computer literacy.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Strong operational project management experience including excellent planning, prioritization, problem solving and organizational skills. Used to managing multiple priorities.
