Investigator, Next Generation Diagnostics
About the Next Generation Diagnostics Group
At NIBR, we are dedicated to the development of therapies that improve clinical outcomes for patients. Next generation sequencing and complementary molecular characterization technologies are important tools for discovering breakthrough therapeutics, and for delivering the right medicines to the right patients. The Next Generation Diagnostics (NGDx) group in NIBR Oncology applies cutting-edge technologies and analytical approaches to thousands of oncology clinical trial samples each year and brings hypotheses from biomarker discovery to bear on drug discovery and development.

We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated scientist with expertise in cancer genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, and molecular biology. This role will advance our translational research efforts via the development of novel approaches, as well as the evaluation and execution of external technologies, to further our understanding of cancer biology. Strong collaboration and communication skills will facilitate successful partnerships with clinical trial teams to establish these novel approaches in clinical settings.

Responsibilities will include:
•Creative and resourceful development of novel diagnostic assays using molecular biology techniques and innovative analysis approaches
•Independent identification and development of innovative solutions to scientific questions
•Evaluation and optimization of new technologies and platforms for use in high-throughput diagnostic assays
•Collaboration on the design and execution of biomarker profiling studies in oncology clinical trials
•Maintaining currency with both academic and industry advancements in relevant technology areas
•Facilitating transfer of developed assays for clinical implementation
