This is a field-based Regional Marketing position, covering the West territory. This role will need to reside in the US and mirrors the West Hematology Region. The ideal location would reside near a major airport due to extensive travel expectations.

The Sr. Manager/AD Regional Marketing – Hematology is a commercial field-based member of the Hematology Franchise Marketing teams. The Sr. Manager/AD Regional Marketing – Hematology is responsible for engaging CML/ITP/SAA/AML /AdvSM Thought Leaders/Medical Experts and for identifying/developing product advocacy within assigned geography. This person works closely with Brand team colleagues as well as with Sales, Training, Medical and other key stakeholders. The Sr. Manager/AD Regional Marketing – Hematology would support the Brand team on marketing projects requiring involvement from Thought Leaders/Medical Experts and would be fully accountable for identified marketing projects and contributions to the Marketing teams.

Sales Expert Advisor Engagement
• Work with Brand, Sales Leadership, Account Management, Strategy & Business Development and Medical as a primary point of contact with national and regional CML/ITP/SAA/AML /AdvSM Thought Leaders/Medical Experts
• Develop and execute an engagement plan with Thought Leaders/Medical Experts in a commercial capacity
• Act as a primary point of contact for Thought Leaders/Medical Experts with the commercial side of the Novartis organization
• Lead set up of Thought Leader/Medical Experts engagements with Novartis colleagues during medical conferences
• Identify and develop product advocates in the CML/ITP/SAA/AML /AdvSM Thought Leaders/Medical Expert community

Marketing
• Take full accountability for collaboration on designated marketing projects involving Thought Leaders/Medical Experts
• Provide insights from Thought Leader/Medical Expert engagements including conferences to help shape and adjust appropriate brand and franchise priorities and strategies
• Collaborate with Brand teams on other marketing projects involving input from Thought Leaders/Medical Experts
- e.g. select appropriate Thought Leader/Medical Expert for specific projects and working with Thought Leaders/Medical Experts
• Support the Brand team on Peer to Peer initiatives including identification of speakers, assessment and development of speakers in accordance with Novartis policy
• Compliantly establish and communicate brand product profile to Thought Leaders/Medical Experts in support of appropriate patient treatment

Other
• Share Thought Leader/Medical Expert insights with field-based teams to support their development of account-specific strategies
• Maintain a thorough understanding of brand strategy and key business drivers
• Stay abreast of competitive environment and treatment paradigms
• Attend local, regional and national medical meetings where CML/ITP/SAA/AML/AdvSM content is being presented
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties, as requested (e.g. regional area support, roll out of marketing tactics)
• Pull through marketing strategy and tactics with field sales and customers

**50-60% travel required.

• Education: BA/BS required; advanced degree preferred

Experience:
• AD level: Extensive Sales management or account management required
• Sr. Manager level: Field sales experience required
*Level will be commensurate on experience

• Pharmaceutical sales experience required for both levels
• Minimum 5 years of Oncology experience strongly preferred
• Experience engaging with Thought Leader/Medical Experts required; account management or sales management experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (fluent in English)
• Self-starter with a strong track record of success
• Strong project management expertise and the ability to exercise informal leadership across matrix teams and vendor partners
