As a senior member of the leadership team in our Autoimmunity, Transplantation & Inflammation (ATI) Disease Area, you will lead development and implementation of the research strategy and drive advancement of our research project portfolio, which aims at addressing unmet medical need with breakthrough therapies.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Implementing a balanced, short and long-term research strategy in alignment with global NIBR, Development and Business Franchises
• Exploring new strategic directions and leading research initiatives through your specific medical and scientific expertise
• Leadership role in the disease area to enhance a culture of scientific excellence, innovation, teamwork and collaboration that results in project successes across NIBR
• Analysing the ATI portfolio and identifying strategic and performance gaps. In collaboration with the project management team, creating output projections and formulating portfolio goals to enable the decision-making process.
• Providing strategic and scientific directions for academic and BD&L partnering. Key liaison in governance boards.

What you’ll bring to the role:
• PhD, MD, or MD PhD
• Significant research and/or clinical experience, with a thorough understanding of human immunology, autoimmune/inflammatory diseases and unmet medical needs
• Strong influencing skills demonstrated successfully within a previous advanced-level Research, Project/Portfolio Management or Development role, preferably in more than one department and function
• Proven successful leadership, strategic thinking, creativity and risk taking
• Excellent skills to support scientists and enable scientific projects in ATI and across NIBR
