Job Purpose:
The purpose of the Medical Advisor Hematology and Oncology role is to prepare the strategy and support the clinical development, the launch and the commercialization of drug products to consolidate Novartis’s market position by providing key strategic and medical information of compounds and indications and to collaborate closely with other departments and external stakeholders in the field. It also includes building awareness around the Novartis pipeline and to support product solutions which are aligned with compound or brand strategy by exchanging scientific information and supporting clinical trials and projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Medical Expert Advocacy
• Identify and collaborate with therapeutic thought leaders
• Medical expert relationship management; facilitate and maintain scientific dialog
• Strengthen and build relationships with large medical organizations, including but not limited to, national/international cooperative groups and other key research and educational institutions, hospitals, networks, physician organizations or payors

Clinical Trial Support
• Provide quality research site recommendations through feasibilities; provide educational activities to support trial accrual as appropriate
• Increase awareness of Novartis clinical research/trial program to enhance patient identification and trial accrual
• Identify IIT research aligned with Novartis strategic research and business interests

Medical Education
-External
• Educate medical experts, speakers and investigators on novel and emerging data as per scientific operations objectives/priorities, in line with local legal and regulatory requirements
• Participate in congresses, observing scientific communication and posters in order to develop project discussion with external medical experts

-Internal
• Participate in conception of medical and scientific documents regarding Novartis products
• Collaborate and support field force teams and disease area teams relative to upcoming launches, life-cycle management and marketing concepts
• Keep up to date with the market and trial (academic) environment regarding medical trends and clinical trials and share and disseminate information within the organization
• Support the medical part of HTA dossier for new drugs

-Scientific Services
• Provide value added scientific services to medical experts upon their request, including retrieval of specific publications, support publication submission (if within local guidelines), connection with specific Novartis scientists, etc.
-Scientific Projects
• Implement added value scientific projects according to corporate global strategies. Examples of these projects may include, but are not limited to, epidemiology projects, registries, preclinical or translational research, multi-disciplinary projects involving the education and collaboration of multiple functions in the medical community (e.g. clinicians, specialists, nurses and pharmacists).

The position is office and field based with main responsibilities covering Norway primarily in hematology and also lung cancer.
The Medical Advisor Hematology and Oncology is also member of the Nordic cross-functional team and engage with regional and global medical colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Scientific Education: MD, PhD, PharmD or other similar scientific education
• Fluent in Norwegian and English
• >2yrs experience from pharmaceutical industry
• 2-5 yrs experience from Health Care sector in Norway. Preferably in Oncology/Hematology or another specialized area.
• Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills and team working experience
