As one of our key Medical Representatives, you’ll represent Novartis and promote a key cardio-metabolic product to target GP's and allied health care professionals within the North Western part of Melbourne.

This is a field-based role which is responsible for adding value and maximising product sales, through an account management approach where you will develop strong relationships with customers. You will deliver persuasive sales presentations and have robust conversations to influence prescribing habits and change behaviours. You will need to maintain full and complete knowledge of the product information and relevant clinical papers and clinical developments within the therapeutic area.

While delivering a high quality of service and personal interaction, your key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all territory reports, maintenance of territory records, handling of enquiries and complaints quickly and professionally and in accordance with company procedures
• Contributing to the Sales and Marketing team by developing relationships and working collaboratively to achieve team and company objectives
• Work cross-functionally with local counterparts and other Novartis customer facing teams to maximise customer interactions and maximise sales results in all channels: offices, surgeries, GPO’s, hospitals, pharmacies and accounts.

This permanent role would largely look after the North Western part of Melbourne, as well as some regular travel to Tasmania. This is a well performing territory with some key accounts!
We’re open to people who are experienced GP sales representatives OR sales people looking to start their pharmaceutical career. Perhaps you have a background in nursing or science, with some commercial experience. Either way, you have a strong customer focus and are comfortable working with a key account management approach. You are passionate, coachable, and a natural leader. Other skills and experience include:

• PhD or Masters qualification in a relevant medical or pharmaceutical area
• Pharmaceutical sales and allied health care experience would be advantageous.
• We expect you will be aware of the content/application of the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct regarding sales representative activity, and demonstrate behaviours in line with Novartis values and behaviours
