The Director, Peer-to-Peer Market Expansion is a field-based leadership role responsible for designing (Dermatology) key customer aspects of the Brand’s peer-to-peer marketing strategies (mid-levels and systems). They will work to establish and entrench Novartis as the partner of choice in Dermatology. This could have the option to build out and have direct reports.
The Director, Peer-to-Peer Market Expansion will collaborate cross-functionally with Peer-to-Peer Brand Lead, Sales Leadership, and medical for input into the design of mid-level strategy. They will have the goal of achieving critical business objectives including:
• Creating innovative ways to increase SOV within the NP/PA community.
• Enhance current capabilities of NP/PA’s through customized engagement and additional education.
• Executes advisory boards and consultant meetings to support key strategies and tactics.
• Help identify more demand creation for our brands to solidify our short and long term goals while entrenching Novartis as the mid-level Dermatologic Company.
• Build advocacy and support for Novartis and our Brand(s) among mid-level influencers using approved materials while serving as primary contact with these key influencers.
• Compliantly liaising with Medical Affairs, R&D, Market Access, Patient Specialty Services (PSS), Sales and Marketing to execute market expansion strategies, address customer needs, identify/initiate appropriate projects of mutual interest to NVS and customers, anticipate market trends, and uncover competitive intelligence, ensuring delivery against Dermatology business objectives.
• Coordination of national/regional conferences, state society meetings, and speaker events. Ensuring alignment across the Novartis organization to coordinate mid-level interactions and deliver a cohesive customer experience.



Major Accountabilities

Mid-Level Interactions
• Significant customer-facing time, building relationships with existing and new mid-level influencers for involvement in current and future commercial activities
• Design national and local mid-level strategy and lead execution of those strategies in coordination with national and regional strategic, marketing and sales business plans.
• Partner with Brand Peer-to-Peer Leads in liaising with sales and marketing leadership to ensure that mid-level concerns/needs are addressed in a timely and thorough manner
• Operates in full alignment with guidelines on appropriate medical/commercial collaboration and, when needed, connect the mid-level influencer to the appropriate Medical Affairs or R&D associate to address clinical/R&D-related questions.
• Initiate collaborations with the Novartis advocacy team while partnering with Brand Leads to develop relationships with key physician and patient organizations
• Disseminate mid-level insights to broader NVS stakeholders, including marketing, sales and access, as relevant, to drive development of new strategies and tactical approaches
• Partner with other internal teams, as needed, to connect various groups within Novartis to appropriate mid-levels


Conventions and Congresses
• Coordinate across brand and sales leadership to coordinate interactions at all assigned national/regional, state society conferences (SDPA, GDPA, FSDPA, ADCS, etc)
• Initiates and pursues opportunities to involve Novartis in meaningful programs with mid-levels to ensure Novartis is strategically and strongly positioned in the US Rheumatology/Dermatology mid-level market

Speaker/Program Management
• Collaborates with marketing team on mid-level strategy and programs and contributes to on-going refinement of US mid-levels speaker Bureau
• Drives inclusion of key customer insights in content development by providing customer perspective, increasing program impact & relevance
• Involves them self in key work streams and initiatives across sales and marketing to ensure mid-level perspective is taken into consideration
• Identifies and initiates programs/tactics of mutual interest to Novartis and Thought Leaders as appropriate
• Liaise closely with Legal, Regulatory and Compliance to execute brand tactics successfully
• Manages budget resources annually and is responsible for delivering on forecast

Bachelor’s degree in related field, MBA or Advanced degree Preferred

English written and spoken, additional languages are desirable

• Minimum 10 years Sales and Account Management experience
• 2 years Sales Management experience
• Extensive knowledge of dermatology market place and established relationships with key customers, preferred.
• Ability to create strategy and influence on a National level experience, preferred.
• Knowledge of health care and/or pharmaceutical industry
• Ability to travel 80%
• Track record of effective people/performance management
• Proven ability to develop productive relationships with physicians and other Healthcare Professionals
