Head of Laboratory – Immunology of regulatory T cells
Novartis Autoimmunity, Transplantation & Inflammation (ATI) Disease Area is seeking an innovative and highly motivated senior scientist to initiate and guide research projects in the area of regulatory T cells with the aim to discover novel therapies for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. For this you will investigate ex vivo and in vivo the induction of regulatory T cells for reestablishment of self-tolerance in various autoimmune diseases. You will be involved in early drug discovery activities up to clinical proof-of-concept studies in patients and have access to a broad spectrum of skill sets by collaborating with scientists, clinicians, and technology experts. You will head a state-of-the-art laboratory and be a member of, and eventually lead, cross-functional project teams. • PhD with strong background in immunology and autoimmunity
• Strong research experience from several years of post-doctoral training is mandatory
• Extensive knowledge of cellular/molecular immunology will be key
• Experience as an independent research scientist in an academic setting and/or in the pharmaceutical/biotech sector
• Proven success in independently initiating and leading projects in autoimmunity and inflammation, especially related to the biology of regulatory T cells and cellular immunology
• Significant scientific accomplishments and successful collaborations documented by publications in high-impact journals
• Proven track record of leadership, strategic thinking, creativity, and risk taking
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
