Head Finance GDPD (f/m/d), Schaftenau/Kundl, Tyrol, Austria

180! The Head Finance GDPD role includes business partnering on strategic and operational aspects in a unit with ~180 FTE and ~$70m costs. TRD GDPD (Technical Research & Development, Global Device & Packaging Development) develop primary packaging, medical devices and drug-device combination products to enable delivery of the diverse Novartis drug portfolio.

Your key responsibilities:
• As a member of the GDPD LT contribute to strategic planning and to setting of overall policy and direction; assist the GDPD LT in the execution of strategy
• Provide expert financial counsel on topics such as resource allocation, footprint strategy and investment decisions, with the objective to generate enterprise value
• Proactively identify areas of opportunity (speed, quality or cost driven), and drive / support initiatives to materialize the value-adding potential of those opportunities
• Lead and coordinate the financial planning processes for GDPD; support simplification and automation of processes while ensuring accuracy of forecasts
• As a member of the TRD Finance LT contribute to the strategic and operational leadership of the TRD Finance function
• Provide BPA support for the newly integrated TRD Radioligand Therapy (RLT) development unit, thereby closely working with the TRD RLT leadership and the TRD NCE (New Chemical Entities) Finance team
• Drive process adherence and ensure high levels of integrity and compliance respecting laws and Novartis control frameworks

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Advanced university degree in Business Administration/Finance or comparable qualification
• Minimum of five years of working experience in a similar position, ideally in the pharmaceutical industry
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Strong analytical skills, highly collaborative mindset, ability to manage complexity
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national, matrix organization

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 66.526,88/year (on a full time basis). The actual salary will be significantly higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
