Novartis in Albania aims to discover and advance medical breakthroughs to **improve the quality of life and longevity** of people.

The first representative office in the country was opened by **Ciba-Geigy in 1993**; in **1997, Ciba and Sandoz merged to form Novartis, a global company focused on innovation** in healthcare. Today, Novartis operates in Albania with a dedicated team that works closely with authorities and healthcare professionals to bring modern therapies and **increase patient access to innovative treatments**.

Our therapeutic focus aligns with global priorities: **neurology, cardiology, immunology, oncology, and hematology**. Through a **robust research and development program** at the international level, the company continually brings **promising new molecules and therapies** aimed at addressing unmet medical needs.

Currently, clinical studies are not conducted in Albania. Nevertheless, we contribute through **continuous medical education**, the exchange of scientific knowledge, support for **digitalization** initiatives and improvements to healthcare infrastructure, as well as public health education projects and patient support. During extraordinary public health situations, our priority remains **ensuring a stable supply of medicines** and **creating a safe and supportive work environment** for our team.

As an employer, Novartis is guided by the values of **Innovation, Quality, Collaboration, Performance, Courage, and Integrity**, building an **“Unbossed” culture** that empowers people to make sound decisions and work with flexibility. **Inclusion** and **wellbeing** are fundamental: we implement policies that promote **work–life balance**, curiosity, learning, and maximum contribution in service of patients.
