A variety of challenges

Katsuya Ishizaki, Group Manager, Regulatory Operations, Novartis Pharma, Japan, has enjoyed a wide range of challenging projects in his career at Novartis:

"Over the course of my Novartis career, I've had many opportunities to work and develop across various areas. I started my drug regulatory career with a unique product - an anti-obesity appetite suppressant. Then I was in charge of various therapeutic projects - an allergy nasal spray and medicines for heart, lung and pancreas transplantation. I later led teams responsible for drug license maintenance and regulatory intelligence.

Today as Head of Regulatory Operations in Japan, my main responsibility is electronic dossier submission and preparation, which requires extensive study reports and close work with the regulatory authorities. We recently introduced a regulatory document management system that is very important to the success of our submissions in Japan. I'm proud to have the opportunity to lead an excellent team and contribute to the success of Novartis."
